Avirat’s origin traces back to 2001 when divorced dad and father of three, Paul Volker, faced his own challenge of splitting his kids’ time with his ex-wife. Out of his frustration and lack of an available solution in the market, he had the idea to create the OurFamilyWizard website to provide a stress-free zone for parents to manage family schedules within one neutral system. He co-founded Avirat with Kathleen Kissoon, an established family lawyer; her husband, Deonarine Kissoon, an experienced engineer; their son, Jai Kissoon, a recent graduate from business school; Larry Patterson, a college friend of Jai’s and technology expert; and Dara Wegener, a customer experience expert . Through their collaboration, Avirat launched the OurFamilyWizard website and continues to maintain and enhance the website today.

Much has happened since Avirat's inception. The company now serves a very large subscriber base all over the world via the OurFamilyWizard website and looks forward to the what the future holds.
